The founder and President, Mary Stewart, has the distinction of being the only woman in Haywood Co. with an “unlimited” license classification. She has 24 years of entrepreneurial experience and fell in love with homebuilding in Jackson County, where she built her first Post and Beam buildings. She has served two terms as President of Haywood Co. Homebuilders Association and spear-headed its first Parade of Homes, where she was the winner of the Parade of Homes Best Kitchen Design. A strong believer in continuing education, she has earned the designation of North Carolina Accredited Master Builder and LEED Accredited Professional (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) from the U.S. Green Building Council, which is producing a new generation of buildings that deliver high performance inside and out. Stewart Builders is an Energy Star builder and a NC Healthy Home builder
